What’s Occurring in Easter Term?

A five week holiday may seem like a luxury you want to never end and in many ways it is fantastic to have so much time to spend at home. With no lectures or seminars to fill your days I’m sure you are all enjoying a brief reprise from hardwork before embarking on your final push as you begin (or continue) your revision and final assignments of the year! However, whilst you may not be thinking of returning just yet, I thought I would whet your appetite for what is to come JCR wise next term. The article will highlight all of the things you have to look forward to and details of when these events will be held or where you can find out all the information you need to know for each event!

Husts (26th April)

Yes, they’re back! We have more Husts for you all to sink your teeth into on the first Thursday back and they’re going to be good. The previous two Elections have brought with them laughs and incredible campaigns and we cannot wait for another round.

These Husts will be hosted in Central so make sure you get down in plenty of time for a 7pm start to ensure you grab a seat (and get the pizza flavor you actually want!).

Yeah I know that you know these are looming but make sure you have prepared well and are ready for whatever may be thrown at you. There’s only a few weeks of hard work to go so give it your all and prepare for what’s to come afterwards!

Summer Ball (26th May)

Post QC Exams we kick off our end of year celebrations in style with our incredible Summer Ball. The event of the Stevo Calendar for many, this year promises to be even more spectacular as we have branched out to take our Enchanted Forrest themed ball to Slaley Hall in Hexham (see below for a picture!). With picturesque grounds for our drinks reception, an acclaimed wedding band to keep us entertained and a few surprises to keep you on your toes we really have gone all out this year and we cannot explain how stupidly excited we are for this one!

Re-Freshers’ Week (w/c 28th May) and Handover Dinner (1st June)

Re-Freshers’ Week is back for one last time in Stockton and I’m so excited for all of the incredible events we have going on. I’m not here to steal anyone’s thunder so I’ll allow Rhys to keep you updated on all things Re-Freshers’ Week on the event. Make sure you click going to get all of the information you will need!

The final Handover Dinner in the Waterside is bound to be tinged with sadness, however we have a wonderful evening planned for you with Sing Soc performances and plenty of awards to hand out, as well as taking some time to welcome the new Exec. Invites will be sent to those who are to receive awards or those who have been chosen for their excellent contribution to the College or JCR. It’s also a fantastic chance to have a final meal with your sports team before everyone leaves for the summer, so make sure you sign up quick when we go to general sale!

STEVO DAY (2nd June)

The biggest Stevo Day yet (well, I think so anyway) is here and it’s set to be a corker! Rhys has already started to dish out some of the exciting things we have going on during the day so be sure to watch this space by following the event.

As you can see, this term has so many incredible events planned for you and the only thing you need to do is make sure you try hard for your exams, buy your tickets when they go on sale and look out for event updates in your emails or the Facebook events/groups. Simples!
